The FCLE is designed to provide you with basic skills
related to research & writing in the academy and focusses on the
resources you will need to produce a freshman-level research paper.
Many of you will be using either the Beacon Handbook or the Handbook
for College Research. References to chapters and page numbers to
these texts are included below.

- Students will learn how to evaluate Internet sites (primarily) and
how to establish the authority of print resources (secondarily) [related
to achieving critical thinking skills]
