Indiana State University Library is pleased to announce a program to recognize excellence in student research papers. Winning papers will incorporate skill and creativity in the application of the services and collections of the ISU Library. Awards will be given to both undergraduates and graduates. Awards of $1000 for the selected undergraduate paper and $1500 for the selected graduate paper will be made. In addition, $250 will be given to the faculty member who nominates a winning paper. Application deadline is February 14th, 2008 at 4:00 p.m.

Faculty members must nominate students and submit a nomination form and a letter of support. Students must submit a cover sheet, checklist, 500-750 word essay describing research strategies and application of library tools and resources in completion of the paper, a final print version of the paper and bibliography, and an electronic copy of the final research paper and bibliography.

Submissions will be evaluated by teaching faculty, one from each college, and two members of the library faculty. The committee reserves the right not to bestow awards in the absence of acceptable submissions. Dissertations, theses, and works of fiction are not eligible for consideration.

Application deadline: February 14, 2008. Incomplete and/or late applications will not be accepted. Applications become the property of the Cunningham Memorial Library and will not be returned.
